The latest vessel of the Spider Mage magic is Asim. He has a warren underneath an apartment building in the modern part of downtown Port Storm.
BOOK 2 – VIKTORIA‘S SHADOW: JAEL
Asim puts spiders on Thomaex and sends him to look for Musette at the gallery showing. Instead, Thomaex meets Viktoria, and places a spider on her to keep track of where she goes.
The mage magic identifies Viktoria as an Esne – a witch capable of birthing children to mages, and she becomes a target in addition to Musette.
When Viktoria arrives home, the spider drops off to keep watch, and the mage sees Jael arrive at her house.
Asim sends Thomaex to kidnap Viktoria and sets a trap for The Scourge, as the mages call Jael.
The trap works, and Asim poisons Jael‘s memories, leaving him at risk of losing his mind.
Viktoria finds Asim and they fight. She blinds and binds him with shadows.
BOOK 5 – MUSETTE‘S FATE: IDRIS
Asim poisons Musette‘s magic and puts her into a coma. His plan is to trade her to other mages, weaken them, and absorb their power.
Idris takes Alaric and Drake to retrieve the Spider Mage and bring him to the dungeon under the Ildum’s compound.
